Poker is a game of constant education.  Once you stop educating, you start to lose your edge.  There are so many brilliant online poker players out there for you to learn from and there are many resources out there for you to gain their knowledge.

Changing up your game at the table helps in disguising how you play, and therefore, doesnt allow your opponents to get a good read on your poker game.

In online poker, it’s important for you to always have a reason why you are putting money into the pot.  Here are some good options:

1. to steal the blinds
2. To isolate a player when you are in position
3. Because you think you have the best poker hand
4. To set up a delayed steal
5. Because you believe if you make your hand, you will be paid off better (Implied Odds)

Because you lose out on position, and also because you are forced to have money in the pot, you are generally going to lose money while being in the blinds.  Do not invest money in the blinds if you do not have to.  Fold your small blind, and accept that losing half the big blind is better than losing more.

Being in position gives you some great advantages in online poker:

1. You get the opportunity to see what all of your opponents do before you decide if you will commit chips to the pot.
2. You have the last chance to bluff
3. You can take advantage of your opponents missing the flop, even if they have a better starting hand.
4. Its easier to extract the most money possible from other poker players.
